Peace- on- Demand was created as a result of my spending way too much time in hospital waiting rooms. While healthcare has made some progress in providing pagers, using cell phone numbers, patient tracking systems, or every two hour updates, the stress of waiting to hear about the results of a loved-one's test, procedure, operation, biopsy, surgery, birth, or a multitude of other medical events can feel like torture.
Our minds go to places that are dark and dismal. Those places only cause our sympathetic nervous system to kick into high gear where we experience shallow breathing, heart palpitations, sweating, irritability, anger, despair, and hopelessness. We may feel isolated and alone, even while we may be sharing a room filled with other people.
This Sanctuary was created with the hope that you can find peace and solace during stressful times. We know that how we each deal with stress varies from individual to individual. Therefore, we have to offer different options in hopes that one of these might work for you. We've compiled a list of resources, videos, poetry, meditations, yoga poses, prayers, images, and music to help you find your sanctuary.
